The
Old CBSS Website's Inspiration Tutorials
In 1999, when we first started this website, we included some tutorials that are now very outdated. New tutorials are being developed, primarily in movie format (if a picture is worth 1000 words, what is a movie worth?!) However, during this transition period, we're keeping this page up for you. Here goes! Inspiration is a very intuitive program. Some people learn it by checking out the menus and the toolbar to see whats familiar and whats new, then trying the new things. This can be a good strategy if you are comfortable with computers and like to explore. Some
people like to learn by taking the sure-to-succeed steps. If you would
like to learn this way, use the tutorials offered here. We have created charts that show how to do things in Inspiration one for the Diagram View and one for the Outline View. You can set yourself up to learn on-line. Minimize or shrink your net browser screen. Open Inspiration and size the windows so you can see both programs at once. This way you can follow along, creating the pictures shown here. Another way to do this is to switch back and forth between the programs using task bar/application menu. Or, you can print out the tutorial (better for smaller machines or if you have to pay for your internet service). If you don't have Inspiration, just go to their website and download a free 30-day trial version. Caution: this can only be done once per machine.) Use
these tutorials to LEARN and have fun!
